Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 27, 2026  |  Effective Date: August 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Habit Tracker ("we", "our", "us", or "the Application") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

In short: We collect only what's needed to run your account, sync your routines and calendar entries across devices, send you daily reminder notifications, and keep the app stable and up to date. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

1. Information We Collect

Account registration is required to use the Application; anonymous usage is not supported. We collect the following categories of information:

1.1 Account Information

1.2 Application Content You Create

To provide core tracking functionality, we process the content you create within the app, including:

1.3 Push Notification Data

To send you reminder notifications, we collect and store a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token associated with your account. This token does not by itself identify you personally, but is linked to your account on our servers so that we can deliver notifications to the correct device. Using this token, a scheduled backend process sends you notifications several times a day (typically 4–6) summarizing:

The content of these notifications is generated from the habit and completion data described in Section 1.2 above; no additional personal data is created for this purpose. You may disable notifications at the device level at any time, which will prevent delivery even though a token may remain stored until it expires or is refreshed.

1.4 Automatically Collected Technical Information

When you use the app, certain technical data is collected automatically via third-party diagnostic tools (detailed in Section 4), such as device identifiers, operating system version, app crash logs, and performance metrics. We also automatically collect your IP address and app version number as part of standard server request handling, used for the abuse-prevention and update-enforcement purposes described in Sections 2 and 9. We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts, camera, or microphone data unless a future feature explicitly requests that permission with your consent.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to operate and improve the Service:

We do not use your account or habit data to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. Data Processing and Storage Infrastructure

Your data is processed and maintained across two structural layers to ensure availability and offline access:

3.1 International Data Transfers

Our servers and the third-party providers we use (see Section 4) may store or process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required by law, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection wherever it is processed.

3.2 Data Retention

We retain your account and app data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, your personal data and associated records — including your stored FCM token — are permanently deleted from our production servers within 30 days, except where retention is required to comply with a legal obligation, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Backup copies may persist for a limited additional period before being purged through routine backup rotation.

4. Third-Party Services

The Application integrates the following third-party services. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to perform its function, and these providers are not permitted to use your data for their own advertising purposes:

We do not use any third-party advertising or ad-attribution SDKs in this Application.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We only disclose your information in the following limited circumstances:

6. Information Security and Abuse Prevention

We maintain appropriate physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your data. All communication between the mobile client and our server infrastructure is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Authentication is handled through Google Sign-In, and no application passwords are stored on our servers.

To protect the Service from abuse, we apply automated safeguards such as IP-based rate limiting on our backend, and we may suspend or ban accounts that violate our Terms of Service or engage in abusive, fraudulent, or harmful activity. While we implement industry-standard protective measures, no storage medium or internet transmission can be guaranteed 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law (including GDPR for EEA/UK users and CCPA/CPRA for California residents).

8. Children's Privacy

The Application is not directed toward individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take immediate steps to delete such information from our servers. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us using the details below.

9. App Version Requirements and Forced Updates

To keep the Service secure and functioning correctly, our backend maintains a minimum supported app version and a latest available version. Each time you use the app, your current app version is compared against these values. If your installed version falls below the minimum supported version, the app will display an update screen describing what has changed and prompting you to update, with a button that takes you directly to the Application's Play Store listing. This check uses only your app version number and does not involve any additional personal data beyond what is described in Section 1.4.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page along with an updated "Last Updated" date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice (such as an in-app notification) where required by law. Continued use of the Application after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
